Permanent, warranty-backed repair strategies for Western Australian homeowner. We stop structural leaks, eradicate mold, and restore your tiles without the massive cost of demolition.
A leaking shower is one of the most damaging problems in any Perth home. Water doesn’t just stay in the shower — it travels silently through grout joints, failed membranes and silicone gaps into wall cavities, subfloors and structural timbers. We fix the root cause, not just the surface.
Common Causes
Failed waterproof membrane
The most common cause. Membranes degrade around movement joints and pipe penetrations, especially after 10+ years.
Cracked or missing grout
gaps in grout allow water to bypass the tile surface and seep directly into wall and floor cavities.
Deteriorated silicone joints
silicone at corners, bases and screen junctions fails with age and exposure to cleaning products.
Poor original installation
inadequate waterproofing at construction often shows up 5–15 years later as a slow, hidden leak.

Don't delay:
Every week a shower leaks, water enters wall cavities and subfloors — turning a small repair into a costly structural job.
Grout is your bathroom’s first line of defence against water — and when it fails, your walls and floors pay the price. We mechanically remove all old, failing grout and replace it with a premium product that seals, lasts and looks clean.
Common Causes
Age and building movement
Natural settlement causes hairline cracks in grout over time, creating pathways for water infiltration.
Harsh cleaning chemicals
bleach and acid-based cleaners degrade cement grout, leaving it porous, stained and structurally weak.
Poor original mix or installation
incorrect ratios, premature sealing or shallow joints lead to early failure and crumbling.

Silicone
Replacement
Silicone is the flexible joint that bridges rigid tiled surfaces — and it’s the most commonly overlooked cause of bathroom leaks. Old, mouldy or cracked silicone must be fully removed and replaced correctly. Patching over old silicone always fails.
Age and UV degradation
silicone hardens, cracks and loses adhesion after 5–10 years of wet-area exposure.
Building movement
natural settling causes silicone at corners and junctions to crack and pull away from tile faces.
Mould penetration
once black mould colonises silicone it grows through the material — it cannot be cleaned out, only removed.
Our Repair Process

Full Removal of Old Silicone

Waterproofing is the invisible foundation of every wet area. Without a properly installed membrane, water slowly infiltrates your building structure — causing rot, mould and expensive structural repairs. All our waterproofing fully complies with Australian Standard AS 3740.
New shower or bathroom builds
AS 3740-compliant waterproofing is legally required by Australian building code before tiling any wet area.
Renovation and retiling
whenever tiles are removed, the membrane must be inspected and repaired or replaced before new tiles go on.
Balconies and outdoor areas
Perth’s intense sun and wet winters demand specialist UV-stable waterproofing systems for external surfaces.
01
Substrate Preparation
All surfaces inspected, cleaned and repaired. Penetrations, corners and junctions pre-sealed with bond-breaker tape.
02
Reinforcement at Vulnerable Points
Fibreglass reinforcement embedded at all corners, angle changes and pipe penetrations — the highest-risk locations.
03
Membrane Application
Compliant liquid membrane applied in two coats to required film thickness across all floor and wall surfaces in the wet zone.
04
Cure, Ponding Test & Certificate
Membrane cured per spec. Water ponding test conducted. Documentation available on request.

Tile Repairs
Cracked, hollow or loose tiles are both a water risk and a safety hazard. Water enters through every broken tile surface, and loose tiles underfoot can cause injury. We replace damaged tiles seamlessly using matched materials wherever possible.
Impact damage
dropped objects or heavy impacts crack tiles, creating gaps that water can exploit immediately.
Adhesive failure
tiles de-bond from the substrate when adhesive degrades, creating hollow spots and eventual movement.
Whether it’s a bathroom renovation, a kitchen splashback or a full outdoor entertaining area — we deliver professional tiling from substrate prep through to final seal. Every job includes layout planning and AS 3740 waterproofing where required.
Bathroom renovations
full retile of shower recesses, floors and feature walls with your chosen tiles and grout colour.
Kitchen splashbacks
precision tiling behind benchtops and cooktops including cuts around powerpoints and fittings.
Outdoor entertaining areas
porcelain and stone tiles for alfresco areas, pool surrounds, pathways and stairs.
01
Consultation & Layout Planning
We review your tile selection, plan the layout to minimise waste and mark out key set-out lines before any adhesive is mixed.
Full tap-test of all surrounding tiles to map the complete extent of de-bonding before any work begins.
02
Substrate Preparation
Surfaces cleaned, levelled and prepared. Cement sheeting installed where needed. Wet areas waterproofed to AS 3740.
03
Tile Installation
Tiles set in full-bed adhesive, accurately spaced and levelled. Walls first, then floors. All cuts clean and precise.
04
Grout, Silicone & Seal
Joints grouted to chosen colour, movement joints siliconed, porous tiles sealed. Complete professional finish.

Common Questions
Service FAQs
Honest answers to the questions we get asked most.
Do you need to remove tiles to fix a leaking shower?
In over 90% of cases — no. Most leaking showers can be fully repaired without removing a single tile. We repair the membrane, regrout and replace silicone while tiles stay in place. Full tile removal is only needed when the substrate behind has been severely damaged by long-term water ingress.
How long before I can use the shower after repair?
After silicone replacement: 24–48 hours. After a full regrout: 24 hours for cement grout, 48–72 hours for epoxy. After waterproofing membrane: 48–72 hours. We always provide exact cure times for your specific repair before we leave.
Highly resistant to staining, mould and chemical attack. Ideal for wet areas — lasts significantly longer than cement grout.
Can you match my existing grout colour?
Yes — in most cases we can match your grout colour very closely. We carry a wide range of colours from leading manufacturers. For very old or unusual colours, an exact match may not always be possible, but we’ll discuss options with you before starting.
What's the difference between cement and epoxy grout?
Cement grout is the traditional type — widely available and easy to apply, but porous and requires sealing. Epoxy grout is a premium two-part product that is non-porous, stain-resistant, mould-resistant and far more durable. It costs more and is harder to apply but lasts significantly longer in wet areas. We recommend epoxy for showers.
Do you provide a written guarantee on your work?
Yes — all our work comes with a written workmanship guarantee. If a problem arises that was directly caused by our workmanship within the guarantee period, we will return and rectify it at no cost to you. Specific terms are provided in writing on completion of every job.
Can you help with commercial and rental properties?
Absolutely. We work with property managers, landlords, body corporates and commercial owners across Perth. We understand the need for prompt turnarounds on tenanted properties and can provide detailed invoicing and documentation for property management purposes.
How do I know if my shower is actually leaking?
The simplest test: plug the drain, add a few centimetres of water to the base and leave it 24–48 hours without running the shower. If the water level drops, water is escaping through the base or walls. Damp adjacent walls, musty smells and peeling paint are also strong indicators of an active leak.
How much does waterproofing a shower cost?
Cost varies depending on the size of the area, access requirements and whether substrate repairs are needed. A standard shower waterproof typically starts from a few hundred dollars as part of a renovation. We provide a detailed written quote before any work begins so you know exactly what you’re up for before we start.
